We look after health and safety in factories, farms, hospitals and schools, construction, the movement of dangerous goods and substances, and many other aspects for the protection both of workers and the public.

The Internal Responsibility System
Moving past OHS compliance to creating a culture of wellness and a business advantage. The pivotal concept of IRS is often misunderstood or only touched on in a cursory manner in occupational health and safety management systems. IRS is a foundational concept that should be fully developed and continually improved over time.

Joint Health and Safety Committee Part 1
This course covers the law, due diligence, recognition/assessment/control of hazards, workplace inspections, and accident investigation. Required for provincially regulated workplaces with more than 20 permanently employees. They must have a Joint Health and Safety Committee. At least 2 members of the JHSC, 1 being a management rep, 1 being a worker rep, must receive certification. Course delivered in partnership with Linda Magill.

Joint Health and Safety Committee Part 2
This course is a follow up to the Part 1. Employers are required to conduct a hazard analysis of their workplace and have their JHSC members who have taken the JHSC Part 1 attend specific modules covering the hazards associated with their workplace. Both Part 1 and Part 2 must be completed to receive full certification.

Due Diligence with Bill C45
Participants will learn about the duties and responsibilities they have under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the concept of due diligence. Participants will also receive instruction on the requirements of the Internal Responsibility System and on techniques that can be implemented to help an organization establish Due Diligence.

Safety Leadership (motivational)

Workplace Inspection
This course will provide the participants with knowledge on how to conduct a proper workplace inspection. It will include the planning stage of the inspection, conducting of the inspection, how to fill out the inspection report and the importance of follow up.
Duration: 4 hours

Hazard Identification
Participants will learn how to recognize, assess and control hazards. The participants will learn how to conduct a Job Hazard Analysis.
Duration: 4 hours
Risk Management

Right to Refuse
Participants will be instructed on the requirements of Sect. 43 of the OHSA. They will be given scenarios in which they have to apply the work refusal process.

Canada Labour Code Part II
Participants will learn about the duties and responsibilities they have under the Canada Labour Code and Safety Act and the concept of due diligence. Participants will also receive instruction on the requirements of the Internal Responsibility System and on techniques that can be implemented to help an organization establish Due Diligence. The course will cover the Internal Complaint Resolution process as well as the requirements for a form Hazard Prevention Program.
Note: This is for Federally regulated workplaces.

Workwell Audit
Consultant will evaluate the company's health and safety program using the WSIB Workwell audit as a benchmark. A report will be issued outlining specific areas required for improvement and steps to be taken to address the identified deficiencies.

Gap Analysis
Consultant will evaluate the company's health and safety program using the applicable legislation, standards and industry practices to determine if there are any elements missing. A report will be issued outlining specific areas required for improvement and steps to be taken to address the identified deficiencies.

Health and Safety Program Development
Consultant will develop in participation with the employer a full Health and Safety Program which will include the policies and any applicable forms needed for the company to implement the policies. A hard copy and an electronic copy of the program will be provided.

Policy Development
Consultant will develop in consultation with the employer individual policy based on a specific need. Included with the policy will be any applicable form needed to implement the policy.

Develop and Implement Risk Management Plans
Consultant will develop a specific action plan that outlines what has to be done to control identified risks in regards to Health and Safety in the workplace. It will include actions required, resources required, costs, assignments of actions, due dates and follow up.
